Tips for Women From Women About Dating

Tips for Women From Women About Dating

by Sara Jenkins

Dating advice for women is not hard to find. It seems to be everywhere. But, is it good advice? You don't want to get started on the wrong foot. Here we have some advice that is right from the experts: other women. Who knows better than the voice of experience?

Alicia, a 30 year old professional woman, advises "don't talk too much. You don't have to keep the conversation going all by yourself. And, if you try to, you won't be listening to what he has to say." Be more interested in what you hear than in what you say.

Eve is a widow who recently re-entered the dating scene after a 32 year marriage. Her dating advice for women is to keep it up beat. "You've always got to be positive, even though circumstances in your life may have gone pretty bad lately. Be up-beat, men don't like to spend time with a woman who constantly is negative. In time you become too much of a downer for a man to want to continue to see you."

Sandy, a single Mom of 3 says "Be strong. But not too strong. The point is don't be wishy-washy. Know what you want for dinner, don't just say 'oh, anything is fine'. If you don't like the type of movie he has suggested, say so. Men don't like spineless women. But, they don't like pushy ones either."

Laure tells us to never ask for professional favors. "Don't expect the mechanic to fix your car, or the police officer to fix your ticket. You're a big girl, take care of such things yourself. You don't want to give the impression that favors is the reason you are dating him"

You wouldn't ask a gardener how to fix the hem in your skirt, would you? No, you would ask someone who knows about sewing. Would you ask a brick layer how to bake a cake? No, again, you would go to a person whom you can reasonably expect to know about your question. So it makes good sense to ask other women for dating advice.
